A number of locals were honored by their respective universities recently.

Abilene Christian

Local students named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2025 semester at Abilene Christian University included: Leah Winegeart of De Leon, a junior majoring in Art Lydia Erb of Stephenville, a sophomore majoring in Digital Entertainment Technology Brenda Garcia of Stephenville, a sophomore majoring in Communication Disorders Evan McLeroy of Stephenville, a sophomore majoring in Exercise Science Patelynn Snyder of Stephenville, a senior majoring in Child and Family Services Taylor Hall of Comanche, a freshman majoring in Integrated Studies Students earn Dean’s Honor Roll recognition at ACU by achieving a 3.6 or higher GPA while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Angelo State

TalonPhilipsof Stephenville was among nearly 200 student-athletes named by Angelo State University to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for their academic achievement during the fall 2025 semester.

The Commissioner’s Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of each fall and the spring semester, with student-athlete qualification based on their grade point average for the specified semester. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the semester and be on the institution’s sports roster.

Philips is majoring in Exercise Science at Angelo State.

Texas State University

Texas State University named the following students to the President’s List for Fall 2025: Luke Blackburn of Stephenville, Performance Kaitlyn Crow of Stephenville, History Josalyn Garcia of Stephenville, Wildlife Biology The President’s List is comprised of students who earned a term grade point average of 4.0 while enrolled in at least 12 GPA hours at Texas State University. This achievement was earned by less than 12% of students in Fall 2025.

Mia Lopez of Comanche was named to Texas State University’s Fall 2025 Dean’s List in recognition of academic excellence.

Majoring in Applied Arts & Sciences, Lopez is among only 18% of students named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List. This prestigious honor recognizes students who have achieved a term GPA between 3.5 and 3.99 while enrolled in 12 or more GPA hours at Texas State University 

SNHU

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) named the following local students to the Fall 2025 President’s List: Jazline Chevalier of Dublin James Sadberry of De Leon Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Washburn University

Brynne Liedtke from Stephenville was among President’s List honorees named by Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify for the President’s List, a student must complete at least 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.

South Plains College

Melina Lewis of Stephenville, TX, graduated with their Law Enforcement Certificate - Police Academy from South Plains College in Fall 2025.

South Plains College also named the following local students to the Fall 2025 dean’s list: Austin Leposa of Dublin Camden McKinney of Stephenville To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.25 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

South Plains College is a two-year community college that empowers students and transforms communities across the greater South Plains area of Texas.

Sam Houston State University Houston Binkley of Dublin earned a BS - Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice degree 2025 fall semester at Sam Houston State University.
