Two Dublin Lion seniors reached a milestone during the Jan. 22 home victory over Millsap in a game rescheduled from Jan. 23 due to the winter weather predictions over the weekend.
Alex Teten and Hunter Jones (the Dublin point leaders in the 83-61 win) both passed 1,000 career points during the game.
“I’m really proud of Alex and Hunter on their accomplishment of making 1,000 points in a varsity basketball career,” said head boys basketball coach Wes Grisham. “They’ve worked hard for this achievement, and at the same time, they’ve had some great teammates along the way that helped them make their mark in Dublin basketball history.”
Teten scored scored 28 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals in the game while Jones had 19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and one block.
Also contributing to the win were: Jorge Solis - 14 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal Jayden DeLeon - 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists Omar Vazquez - 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals Ivan Phelps - 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal Kyson Gilman - 1 point, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals Joe Salinas - 6 rebounds Hayden Milburn - 2 rebounds, 2 assists The game followed a narrow 76-61 loss to the Rattlers at Tolar Jan. 20.
Jones led Lion scoring with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks.
