Cardinals looking to build through season

The Lingleville Cardinals were looking for a victory entering into December following a narrow 52-50 defeat by the Longhorns at Graford Tuesday, Nov. 25.

“It’s been a rough start to the season playing a difficult schedule,” said head boys basketball coach Garrett Stewart. “We are currently sitting 0-7.. not exactly where I would like to be at this point in the season, but I don’t believe our record is indicative of what we are capable of accomplishing.”

“We are a young team with very little varsity experience playing a very tough schedule,” he added. “We are still trying to figure out what our roles are on the team and I believe once that clicks, we will start rolling.”

Lingleville will host its own basketball tournament Dec. 11-13 with fans asked to bring stuffed animals for the ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ at the beginning of the Dec. 12 evening varsity boys game. Fans will toss their donations on the court for collection and they will be given to local kids for a merrier Christmas.
