BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.48 feet above pool. Black bass to 5.25 pounds are slow in 3-15 feet of water on Hag’s Tornados, topwaters and spinnerbaits. Some bass are post spawn and a few are into an early summer pattern. Crappie are slow to 10 inches on jigs in 9-15 feet of water. White bass are excellent to 2 pounds on crankbaits in the lights at night. Catfish are slow on prepared bait, nightcrawlers and chicken livers.

GRANBURY

GOOD. Water stained; 78 degrees; 0.22 feet below pool. Granbury is at full pool and water is being released. Stained water exists mid-lake and upstream with clearer water on the lower ends. Water temperatures are in the middle 70s. Striped bass and white bass are on the lower ends near channel breaks. Sandbass are excellent on slabs and mepps spinners. Striped bass are slow to fair to 8 pounds on live bait and trolled umbrella rigs. Blue catfish to 12 pounds are good on cut shad fished on the upper ends. Some good blue catfish catches are also reported midlake from Indian Harbor to Water’s Edge. Crappie continue to be caught in the back of creeks, but many are returning to structure on the main lake. Largemouth bass to 6lbs continue to be good in the back of the creeks in clearer water. Some good topwater action on lipless crankbaits is possible early and late. Soft plastics continue to be the favorite bait when enticing the fish on the beds.

POSSUM KINGDOM FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 0.51 feet below pool. Expect a slow striped bass bite until the water settles. Sand bass are slow to fair when you can find clear water. Use small white, silver or chrome slabs in 15-25 feet of water. Catfish are good fishing cut shad off the bottom in 2-10 feet of water. Baited holes are your best bet to catch numbers on punch bait. Bait with cattle cubes and wait 2-3 hours before fishing. The water temperature is steady at 70-74 degrees, and will continue to rise with warmer weather. Water clarity continues to be less than 1 foot of visibility. The mud line continues all the way down the lake to the dam, and will likely take a few weeks to clear.

PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.93 feet below pool. Reports of white bass caught trolling in shallow water. Crappie are transitioning to brush piles.

WEATHERFORD

FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 3.93 feet below pool. Crappie are fair in 10-20 feet of water on brush piles with minnows and jigs. Bass are fair on soft plastics in deeper water. Catfish are fair with cut bait. Water clarity is 8 inches.
