Dublin ISD athletics are keeping kids active in the summer months as the annual camps returned starting this week with the Baseball and Softball Camps May 20-May 22.
Baseball/Softball
The camp is open to kids who have completed first grad to kids who have completed 9th grade and will be from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Grades 1-5 will be in the first session from 9 a.m.- 10 a.m. while kids in 6th -9th grade will be in the second session from 10:30 a.m.-noon.
All campers will work on every phase of baseball with DISD coaching staff and high school athletes. May 20 will focus on throwing, field and hitting. May 21 will focus on game rules and putting skills together. On May 22, campers will play games that relate to the skills learned and receive awards. Camp fees are $35.
Football
The Fun in the Sun Football camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. each morning on the DHS Bob and Norma Cervetto Field May 27-May 29. This camp is open to kids ages 6 to 15.
Camp fees are $30 per kid and include a t-shirt that will be handed out on May 29. Check-in will be held at the DHS auxiliary gym. (Checks should be made out to Greg Hardcastle, who is acting as camp coordinator.) Coaches and players will teach skills to the kids on May 27 and 28 before the campers take part in games on May 29.
All campers will work on every phase of the game and will be grouped by age in drills and games. A pizza party will accompany the awards on the final day.
Basketball Camp The Flyin’ Lion Basketball camp will be held May 27-29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each afternoon. The camp is open to boy and girls that have completed kindergarten through 8th grade.
Camp will focus on dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and hustle. Awards and certificates will handed out to outstanding campers on the final day at 2:30 p.m.

Volleyball Lady Lions Volleyball Camp will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. June 16-18 in the DHS Roy and Lynn Neff Gym. The camp is open to girls that have completed kindergarten through 8th grade. Camp fees are $35. Checks may be made out to Hannah Smith, who is coordinating the camp.
All campers attending will work on every phase of volleyball with coaches and assistants focusing on different aspects of the game. On the final day, t-shirts and awards will be handed out. Players are encouraged to wear shorts/ spandex and a t-shirt and bring knee pads and plenty of water.
