The Lingleville Cardinals came back after a long Christmas break refreshed and started the second half of their season with a 58-22 home win over Walnut Springs.
“We stepped on the court ready to play, and it showed,” said head Lingleville boys basketball coach Garrett Stewart of the Jan. 3 face-off. “We shot the ball really well (just under 50% from the floor) and had 4 scorers with double digits.” Those players would be Issac Martinez (19), Jaxson Rives (15), Garrett Hurt (10) and Jorge Toledo ( 10).
The Cards were sitting 16-6 for the season and 3-0 for district heading into this week.
