The Lingleville Lady Cardinals volleyball girls continued their winning streak last week with victories over Santo and Coleman.

The first win happened Tuesday, Sept. 17 as the Lady Cards shut out Santo in a three-set away game. Lingleville got their 25s while Santo scored 14 in sets 1 and 2 and 22 in the third set.

“We had a slow night adjusting to a new rotation,” said Lingleville head volleyball coach Brandon Haught. “We finally had a game where we had all of our players with no injuries. Emma [Hudson] made her first start of the year and she played fantastic, she even had a serving run in the 2nd set rattling off 6 aces!”

“We had a gut check in the 3rd set, but managed to bring home the sweep,” he added.

During the game, Kenleigh Jones had 5 kills and 6 digs and Dylan Gibson had 9 assists.

Lingleville returned home Saturday, Sept. 21 for a 4- set win over Coleman.

Lingleville scored 25 in sets 1, 3 and 4 and 24 in set 2 where they were edged out by Coleman’s 26. Coleman scored 22, 13 and 17 in sets 1, 3 and 4.

“This was probably one of our best games played of the year,” said Haught. “We started every set off with fire and it carried us through each one. We made some mistakes in the second set, but were able to adjust and settle in with a better performance in the third and fourth set. We have been working hard on defensive rotations, and it is really starting to show in games! Madison [Howle] and Sophie [Hudson] were simply dominant on the net in this game. They blocked several attacks and just really controlled the front row.”

Stat leaders were Kenleigh Jones with 7 aces and 17 digs, Dylan Gibson with 19 assists and Madison Howle with 12 kills.

Lingleville JV went 2-0 against JV with Kaitlyn Kolb and Virginia Bivens commended for stepping up up in the back row. They followed this with a two-set loss to Coleman.
