The Dublin Lady Lions took the top spot in the B pool while JV Lady Lions claimed silver during the Strawn Tournament Aug. 15-17.
The varsity girls earned their distinction after going 2-1 in bracket play Saturday. “The improvements we made from Thursday to Saturday were incredible to watch,” said head Dublin volleyball coach Lauryn Risinger. “I am extremely proud and grateful to have this group of girls!”
“The tournament for JV and Varsity helped us build connectivity within our teams,” Risinger added. “For the most part, the girls worked together in ways we have never seen before! We saw lots of improvements from the Hamilton game to the tournament, as well as some kinks that need to be ironed out. Overall, the teams did a fantastic job and our coaches are proud!
This tournament appearance followed home games against the Hamilton Lady Bulldogs. The varsity Lady Lions went 13, 18 and 13 against Hamilton’s 25’s.
Risinger reported the JV squads also lost but said all three teams fought hard on the home court.
