Camps set for summer

Body

Dublin ISD has announced the dates for several of their summer camps so young Lions and Lady Lions can learn from district staff and players.

Basketball

Dublin Lions and Lady Lions are inviting kids 6-15 to the Flyin’ Lion Basketball Camps May 28-30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each afternoon. The camp is open to boy and girls that have completed kindergarten through 8th grade.

Camp will focus on dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and hustle. Awards and certificates will handed out to outstanding campers on the final day at 2:30 p.m. Each camper will receive a t-shirt on the final day of camp. Cost for the camp is $25.

Volleyball

Lady Lions Volleyball Camp will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. June 10-12 in the DHS Roy and Lynn Neff Gym. The camp is open to girls that have completed kindergarten through 8th grade. Camp fees are $30.

All campers attending

CAMPS, Page B4 will work on every phase of volleyball coaches and assistants working on different aspects of the game on June 10 and 11. Kids will face off in games that relate to all skills on June 12. After the games, t-shirts and awards will be handed out.

Players are encouraged to wear shorts/spandex and a t-shirt and bring knee pads and plenty of water.

Softball

Lady Lions Softball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 10-12 on the Lady Lions softball field. The camp is open to girls that have completed 1st grade through 9th grade. Camp fees are $35.

Football

The Fun in the Sun Football camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 11: a.m. each morning on the DHS Bob and Norma Cervetto Field July 24-26 Camp fees are $25 per kid and includes a t-shirt that will be handed out on July 26. Check in will be held at the DHS auxiliary gym.

Coaches and former players will teach skills to the kids on July 24 and 25 before the campers take part in games on July 25.

Kids are asked to bring sunscreen, a water bottle, a baseball cap and cleats if available. A pizza party will accompany the awards on the final day. CiCi’s Pizza is a lead sponsor for the camp.
