Erath County officials reported 74 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday night (Dec. 21). Twenty-eight of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville, one was from Dublin and 45 were rural residents of the county.

With the 2021 Erath County Junior Livestock Show fast approaching, letters were recently sent out asking for contributions to the Dublin junior livestock buying pool.

DPS increasing patrols for holidays

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced its annual Christmas and New Year’s holiday traffic enforcement campaigns will kick off on Wednesday, Dec. 23. DPS is reminding drivers to celebrate the holiday season responsibly by practicing safe driving habits and obeying all traffic laws.

December 12 At 10:33 a.m. a call was made to report that trash was being dumped illegally on CR 359 every day. At 10:42 a.m. two red 4-month-old heifers are being penned on CR 249, awaiting owner. December 13 At 11:17 p.m. a structure was seen on fire on FM 8 West, unknown if anyone was inside.

December 14 Caller reported a stray dog running around the neighborhood on the 1000 block of Thomas. December 15 An officer was requested at the Thrift store, the caller believed that items were missing from the store front on the 100 block of Patrick.

Tarleton partners with Dublin on admission, scholarships

Beginning with the 2021-22 school year, Tarleton State University will provide annual scholarships and guarantee admission to Dublin High School seniors who graduate in the top 25 percent of their class.
