GOOD. Water stained; 52-54 degrees; 8.73 feet below pool. Black bass to 11.53 pounds are good on green pumpkin jigs tipped with Hags Baits green pumpkin/blue in 4-12 feet of water on rock piles and points, or chatterbaits around the shoreline in 2-8 feet of water. Crappie are slow around the docks and brush piles on minnows in 10-15 feet of water. White bass are good on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow at baited holes.

Rodeo Museum elects officers

The Dublin Rodeo Heritage Association held its annual election of officers on January 4, 2024 for the coming year. Those elected are James Elliott (President), Angie Manning (Vice President), Tim Holden (Treasurer) and Mary Horn Wood (Secretary).

DG Market breaks ground

Ground has now been broken on a new 9,800 square foot Dollar General Market, which will be located on North Patrick Street (across from Veterinarian’s Outlet), and will be Erath County’s first DG Market location.

Tribute paid to Officer Cindy

A special presentation was made in honor of a fallen four-legged officer during Monday night’s regular meeting of the Dublin City Council, which ended abruptly before all business could be handled. One of the council members excused himself early due to a family emergency and since only three were in attendance (Orion Gallagher, Keegan McInroe and Darren Turley), the meeting ended at his departure due to a lack of quorum.

Filings open for council, ISD board next week

Filing for local elections for school board and city council will officially open on Wednesday, Jan. 17 for the May 4 election and both Dublin boards will have opportunities for citizens to serve. Filing is open for local elections through Friday, Feb. 16.
