The Dublin Cross Country Boys took first place during the Sept. 16 Lipan invitational meet. The gold finish came on the strength of Jilt Deboer, Daniel Escobar and Giovanni Rodriguez, which took first, second and third place respectively.

The Dublin Lions are facing an extra bye week before District play starts with an Oct. 9 game against Comanche at home. This decision follows several football players testing positive for COVID-19 after the weekend.

The Lady Lions have a 5-6 record now after a win against Early followed by a loss against Brock on Saturday. Last Tuesday’s game against the Early Lady Longhorns was won in three sets by the Lady Lions (25-21, 25-18, and 25-18). Madilyn Loper had 19 kills, seven aces and three solo blocks.

Cross Country takes gold

The Dublin Cross Country team claimed more honors Friday at Wichita Falls as the boys placed first as a team thanks in part to top 10 finishes by Jilt Deboer (1st), Daniel Escobar (2nd), Giovanni Rodriguez (4th) and Emiliano Hernandez (7th). The girls placed eighth as a team in the event.
