Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for the Industrial History of Texas is hosting a weekend of holiday activities at the museum in Thurber. Deck the Halls, slated for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13, features Yuletide happenings including cookie decorating and letters to Santa.

At the age of 30, Anna Maria Rodriguez looked in the mirror and found herself looking at a recently divorced mom working four dead-end jobs. She wasn’t going anywhere and her future appeared as bright as a starless night. “I knew I couldn’t keep doing this,” she said.

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has approved creation of Tarleton State University’s Institute for Predictive and Analytical Policing Sciences, a part of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies.

Tarleton State University will celebrate fall 2020 graduates with in-person commencement ceremonies Dec. 11-12 at Memorial Stadium on the Stephenville campus, provided current public health guidelines remain unchanged. Each graduate will receive eight tickets to share with family and friends.

BROWNWOOD GOOD. Water slightly stained; 67 degrees; 2.43 low. Largemouth bass are fair with skirted jigs and spinners in 3-12’ near creeks, rocky shorelines, and fallen timber. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in brush piles and timber near a creek channel.
