Erath County officials reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday night (Jan. 21). Thirteen of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville and five were rural residents of the county.

Fishing report

BROWNWOOD Water lightly stained; 52 degrees; 2.75 low. Largemouth bass are slow with crankbaits, spoons, and jigs near creeks, rocky shorelines, and fallen timber. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles and timber edge near a creek channel or drop off.

Texas dairy’s outlook for 2021

The new year is here, and the milk prices are all aflutter. The board of trade continues to have significant swings in the Class 3 and Class 4 prices that change the price paid to dairy farmers.

Erath County officials reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 in the report f r o m Friday night (Jan. 15) that was released Monday. Twelve of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville, two were from Dublin and four were rural residents of the county.

Its not something we think about today, but city mail delivery was an important step for Dublin. Today its part of our daily lives to have mail delivered directly to our homes, but in 1948 it was something brand new. I remember talking with Bill and Wade Cowan about this a number of years ago.

Hico News Review The Texas Steak Cookoff that was set for May 2021 has been cancelled. With the uncertainty of COVID-19 the Board of Directors decided to cancel the event. This event has been Hico’s biggest in the last 15 years “drawing thousands of visitors”.

100 years Jan. 21, 1921 The accidental discharge of a fire arm killed the one year old child of a Dublin couple. The one year old was playing on the floor while the couple’s older child was playing with the gun, which was thought to be unloaded.
