LISD adopts tax rate, Aces FIRST

The Lingleville ISD School Board accepted a lower tax rate and reported a perfect FIRST score in a special meeting Thursday, Aug. 27 in the Jr. High School Library.Superintendent DeeCee McDougal presented a proposed tax rate of $.86030 per $100 valuation which is lower than the 2025-26 rate of $.

PUC approves transmission line through Erath

Tragedy struck Wednesday, Aug. 26 when first responders were called to respond to a bee attack on North Post Oak in Dublin when a group was clearing brush near the railroad tracks and accidentally disturbed a nest in a barrel.

90K acre fire burns into second week

The Ross Fire in Palo Pinto and Jack counties is now one of the largest fires in the DFW area’s recorded history.The fire, which began Monday, Aug. 24, grew extremely quickly with drought conditions, high wind, low humidity and a large quantity of fuel.

Dublin City Council received information on forming a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) and gave approval for potentially engaging a consulting firm to work with a developer.David Pettit from Pettit & Ayala Consulting Firm explained the ins and outs of a TIRZ to the city council.
