Never forget 9/12

This morning, sitting alone in a dark office, I reread the Sept. 13, 2001 issue of The Dublin Citizen. Twenty-five years later, the horrors of that day flooded back into my memory, raw and gritty. I was fortunate to be a newspaper publisher, because I had a job to do.

Circus coming to town

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is heading to Dublin City Park Oct. 7 thanks to sponsor Dublin Chamber of Commerce. The big top event will have shows at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

DHS Homecoming Candidates 2026

The 2026 DHS Homecoming Court includes: Senior class Homecoming Queen nominees include Kimberly Sevilla, Addison Ivie, Karen Ortiz, Adriana Stewart and Joselyn Perez. Senior class Homecoming King nominees include Miguel Resendiz, Hunter Johnson, Paul Adams, Miguel Corrales and Ethan Whitaker.

Farm Credit Bank reports 30+% increases from last year

Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) today reported financial results for its second quarter and first half of 2026.Net income was $63.7 million and $137.5 million for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2026; increasing 31.4% and 37.5%, respectively, compared with the same periods of 2025.

Folklore Society accepting proposals for annual meeting

Texas Folklore Society is now welcoming proposals for papers to be presented at its 108th Annual Meeting on April 2–4, 2027, at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

Texas AgriLife Extension district reporters compiled the following report for the Central Texas district: Daily highs had topped 100 degrees nearly every day for the month, and some areas recorded no precipitation over that span.
