After an eventful week, the Dublin Market will be a pleasant place to shop and perambulate, with many interesting products to see— Wright Park, Saturday, October 16. The market always features some new wares and creations from our busy local producers.

Rotary hosting blood drive Friday

Stephenville Rotary Club is hosting a blood drive on Friday, Oct. 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at WalMart. The Carter BloodCare bus will be on site and handling donations. —Citizen staff report

Nest boxes sold to help native birds

Official Texas Bluebird Society (TBS) nestboxes will be available for purchase at Saturday’s Dublin Market at Wright Park or by contacting Peggy Tolboom (254)445-3436. These bluebird nestboxes are designed to meet the demands of the Texas environment and will last for many years.

Electronics recycling event returns to Erath County Oct. 23

An electronic recycling event is open to Erath County residents with drop-off locations scheduled for Dublin and Stephenville. Dublin residents will be able to drop off old and outdated electronics locally in the Dublin Annex parking lot (219 S. Grafton) on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

75 Years Ago Oct. 11, 1946 Children of the Dublin Grammar School made a donation of $57.15 during the Salvation Army-USO drive with Miss Johnnie Mae Vickers’ second grade making the largest donation of $7.40. The High School made a contribution of $13.52.

Hico News Review Hico High School senior Angel Aponte was crowned the 2021 Hico Homecoming Queen. Duchesses for the 2021 Homecoming Court were: Sadie Cryer (Junior), Alondra Robles (Sophomore) and Jewels Lucas (Freshman). Coming Home Queen was Taylar Presley.

September 26 At 10:47 p.m. the male driver of a blue Expedition was found passed out in the trees off CR 229 and arrested for DWI. September 28 At 5:59 p.m. a huge fire was found burning a truck and a house on CR 239. At 6:52 p.m. there was a control burn of a mobile home on Hwy 6 West.
