Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will host its second annual fundraising dinner party at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center.The event will feature food, fun, drinks, dancing, silent and live auctions and emcee Ferron Lucero.

The New Year’s Eve celebration Dec. 31, 2025, at Three Oaks Assisted Living was a success with more than 35 people in attendance. There was a variety of food including beltbusters and chicken baskets donated by Dairy Queen. Games were played including cards, dominoes, bingo and more.

Dubliner Kassie Mowry claimed the title of WPRA World Champion Barrel Racer of the Year for the second year in a row, placing or winning seven of her 10 runs at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December 2025.

David Martin, a longtime incumbent familiar to many Dubliners, is seeking reelection for Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 in a race against Dionicia Azua in the March 2026 Republican Primary.Martin has been Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 since 2023.

Suspect held without bond following threats

A suspect is currently being held without bond in Erath County after allegedly threatening three Erath County officials.Aaron Webb, 20, is being held on three counts of obstruction or retaliation, Third Degree felonies.
