Celebrate 250 on tap for Dublin
A group of patriotic Dubliners is seeking support in celebrating America's 250th birthday this July. A meeting will be held Thursday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Blackjack Office Center.
Preliminary plans include free downtown block-party events every Thursday night in July 2026 featuring flag raising ceremonies, dignified flag retirement ceremonies, free outdoor movies, hot dog suppers, children’s activities, and more around the Dublin Public Library.
In conjunction with the month-long celebration, a special commemorative edition of Dublin's cherry lime soda will be sold featuring a Dublin 250 logo designed by Dubliner Amy Knickerbacker. (See photo for reference.)
The celebration will also include the Downtown Passport Program which turns shopping into a fun, rewarding experience while supporting local businesses. Customers receive stamps with each purchase, with each stamp counting as a raffle entry. Passports are turned in by July 31, and winners will be announced August 15. Participating businesses will receive free promotional materials including yard signs, table tents, passports, and a stamp, and may also offer special discounts or donate raffle prizes.
