Dear Editor: It would be hard to find a parent, teacher or student who doesn’t think the STAAR test is awful. Texas goes far above what is required by federal law. In 2015, the federal Every Student Succeeds Act replaced No Child Left Behind.

Dear Editor, Thank you for the article in last week’s Citizen about the upcoming election and voting. Texas usually has a low voter turnout, and I wonder why. Ithinkitisimportant that we remind our friends that a voting opportunity is coming up—a civic responsibility, really.

Dear Editor, The C&M Circus ( Culpepper and Merriweather) is traveling from town to town in Texas. And it’s coming to Dublin on October 11. Wild animals in circuses are often cramped in tiny cages while traveling thousands of miles across the country.

Kysha Hair has worked for convenience stores for nearly a decade. Later this year, she’ll be running her own. Hair graduated from Dublin High School in 2010, and started working at Biggs in Dublin. She stayed there for seven years. “I loved my customers,” she said.

Remember when we had definitive seasons? I know several people who have deemed “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” a holiday classic.
