In 1900 there was a population boom in Dublin and the surrounding area. There was also a boom in Purvis where housing was scarce. It was during this time that Mattie Stephen built a 22 room hotel. It housed travelers and permanent occupants. Mattie Stephen owned and operated it for many years.

I never did run track. However, when I was younger, I loved to run. Being a thin guy, I was pretty fast too. There was a time when a fellow student, who was in track, challenged me to a race around the track. I readily accepted, thinking that I would most likely get beat.

Weeds Galore We have been blessed with some wonderful rainfall this spring. The rainfall provided some good early grazing from some of our cool-season grasses like Texas Wintergrass, ryegrass, and others. It has also really got our warm-season perennial grasses off to a good start.
