Vacation and the really scary bridge

Paul and myself recently had the pleasure of taking a much needed vacation, heading south to the Beaumont area to visit with some of his extended family. Though I’ve heard tons about them and they had heard about me, it was our first meeting. I’ll admit I was nervous.

Blame it all on my British roots, but I’ve never preferred coffee. I like hanging out in coffee shops. I don’t mind smelling like I’ve hung out in a coffee shop all day. But, for me, I like tea. Every morning I need my Barry’s Irish Breakfast Tea with a dash of milk and sugar.

Did you know that The Beatles’ album “Let It Be” is technically a soundtrack? It accompanies the 1970 documentary of the same title. If the film came back to theaters, I would probably go see it by myself. You see, I don’t attend many movies with groups anymore.

Dublin Public Library is hard at work preparing for its Back-to-School Fair to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29. Donations are desperately needed especially hair cut coupon funds.

Shopping local does a community good

July marks the fourth month in a row that sales tax collections were down (slightly) in the city. While the drops are slight, the support for local businesses is needed just as much (if not more) than ever and Dublin business owners are making it really easy.
