How to avoid the family Thanksgiving apocalypse

As the aroma of roasted turkey fills the air and the anticipation of Thanksgiving festivities builds, so does the looming dread of potential political and cultural hot topics at the family table.

Get your Bonnet

I preached a sermon one time entitled, “The Bonnet Story.” It was based in the Old Testament, King James Version of the Bible where the priests were told to wear bonnets. Believe me, it’s in there. Six times in the King James Old Testament it actually uses the word “bonnets.

Married in a snap... no wait, with a snap

Weddings can be pretty solemn occasions especially when you have a family member who was like a second mother officiating the ceremony, witnessed by a large group of close friends and family and have to read personal vows (with a microphone!) in front of everyone.

Can’t afford my Medicare premium.. What do I do?

Dear Toni My Medicare begins September 1 and I have received my first bill for $660. This bill is for 4 months from September to December. I thought Medicare was a monthly premium of $164.90. If I pay the outrageous premium, then I cannot afford my car payment.
