Volunteer Spotlight: The Love Basket-Ray and Barbara Sissom

This year marks 20 years of a Dublin charitable institution: The Love Basket food pantry. On the first and third Fridays of every month, Ray and Barbara Sissom and a small group of volunteers open The Love Basket, a drive-through food pantry that serves more than 100 local families.

Dublin graduate Georgina Chacon and her family came to the U.S. not knowing English, and Chacon faced barriers to getting a higher education. Despite those obstacles, she’s built a successful professional career for herself, and continues to further her education on the side.

After a two-decade career in real estate, Dublin graduate Dora Andrade opened her own family business, a real estate company she runs alongside her three grown children. She’s proud of her work, and looks forward to growing her business in the future while enjoying time with her family.
