Rabies reported in Erath County

The Erath County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Texas Department of Health of a positive rabies exposure in the area of County Road 230.Several puppies were located near the Erath/Hood county line which were moved to an address near County Road 230 prior to testing positive.

A wide variety of vendors were on hand for the June 20 Dublin Market Days under the pavilion at the City Park. The market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the third Saturday of each month.

Granville N. Young (Pee Wee) was born on June 20, 1926 in Odessa and recently celebrated his 100th birthday!After graduating high school, he became a firefighter for the city of Odessa.During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy and traveled across the Pacific six times on an aircraft carrier.

Double N Cowboy Church celebrates 20th anniversary

Double N Cowboy Church hosted a weekend of fun celebrating the church’s 20th anniversary this year. The event included barrel races, concessions, a pistol competition, a dance with live music by the Layne Golden Band, a tug of war competition and a water slide.

Freedom Fest brings day full of color, fun

Revitalize Dublin reported a great turnout and time at the inaugural Freedom Fest Saturday, June 27 at Dublin City Park. There were 16 participants in the bike and scooter parade with winners including Sawyer, Mason and Everett with special recognition going to Erica and Emmett.
