January 18 A report was made of 6 guns that were stolen from a truck the night before at the 200 block of Patrick. A report of loud music was made on Wateroak. Caller reported a reckless driver failing to maintain their own lane on Hoffman.

Filing now open in city, school races

Filing has opened for two City Council races and three Dublin ISD School Board positions during the May 1 General election. City Council seats up for election are those filled by Darrell Curry and Sammy Moore.

100 years Jan. 28, 1921 Local men were encouraged to take part in a rabbit drive on the Fulford Farm in Dublin, owned by L.W. Fulford. Rabbit drives were being staged in many Texas counties helping farmers get rid of the animals damaging their crops.

January 16 At 12:56 a.m. a tan Cadillac at a party on CR 302 left then returned firing several shots, one round struck an unoccupied truck. At 3:46 a.m. the driver of a silver Saturn SUV bailed on foot after wrecking in De Leon on Hwy 16. At 11:31 a.m.

Where Are They Now?

When Debbie Harbin Steiner graduated from Dublin High School in 1973, she didn’t have a clear plan. “I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do,” she said. “But I just stumbled into something that ended up being my life’s work — something I’ve really loved.” That something was nursing.

Tarleton library awarded grant

Tarleton State University’s Dick Smith Library has been selected as one of 200 libraries to participate in “Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries.” More than 300 libraries applied for the grant.

COVID Update

Erath County officials reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 in the report f r o m Monday night (Jan. 25) that was released Tuesday. Fifteen of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville, one was from Dublin and 18 were rural residents of the county.

Dublin Elementary Awards

Dublin Elementary School released the award winners from the fall 2020 semester. Winners inlcude Little Lion Leaders and honor roll honorees which are featured by the Dublin Citizen throughout the school year.
