DABC tourney set Saturday

The annual Dublin Athletic Booster Club Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament has been set for Saturday, July 31, at PAR Country Club. Entry fees for the 4-person scramble are $50 per person or $200 per team. All entry fees include green fees, cart, breakfast and lunch. Check-in will begin at 7 a.m.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

July 16 At 11:58 a.m. a vehicle ran off the road and wrecked on FM 8 West at CR 365, no injuries. At 5:53 p.m. two wreckers were needed after a pickup rear ended a vehicle on FM 8 West at CR 397, injuring one driver’s leg. At 8:26 p.m.

July 12 A report was made for an intoxicated driver on US 377. July 13 A welfare check was requested for an elderly female on the 600 block of Grafton. July 14 Caller reported that a customer was refusing to leave the bank on the 300 block of Patrick.

Where Are They Now?

When Judy Walls Kindred was in her late 20s, she fell seriously ill. Her doctors told her family that there was nothing more they could do for her. Miraculously, though, she recovered, and went back to her life with a new perspective.

Comanche Chief The Comanche Chamber of Commerce hosted an event called Salt, Lime & a Good Time on July 24 in downtown Comanche at the Courthouse. There was a salsa contest with and tequila cocktail or mocktail making contest.

100 years ago July 29, 1921 A child aged two or three fell from the second story window of one of the local hotels. The child was reported to have been playing at the window and unlatched the window screen.

Happy Bear leads special message

Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center and STAR Council led local children in a free program Thursday at Dublin’s Little Authors. The program featured a presentation from Paluxy River mascot Happy Bear (posing above) about how to say no to unwanted attention and a bead craft led by STAR Council.

CTFAC leads Manners Camp
