Two new deputies are now calling Erath County Sheriff’s Office home. With Sheriff Matt Coates are Deputy Taylor Williams and Deputy Julian Matlack. Both graduated from the Weatherford College Law Enforcement academy in late June.

Dee Stephens, an Erath County Commissioner and Harbin Volunteer Firefighter, was recently chosen as June’s hometown hero, a program sponsored by Leslie Walker with Walker Insurance Agency-Farmers Insurance. No significant fires reported in county

There were no significant fires in Erath County over the July 4 holiday weekend, bringing a sigh of relief to residents and emergency personnel. Erath County Commissioners made a difficult call to shut down all firework sales and use on Wednesday, June 29 for a 60- hour period started at 10:50 a.m.

Dublin Lions Club

Dublin Lions Club treated family members of campers and staff at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to root beer floats Friday. Root beer enjoyed was from Dublin Bottling Works with cups and spoons furnished by Dublin Dairy Queen.

Parade promotes patriotic pride

There were a large variety of groups and businesses as well as entry types in the July 4th parade in Stephenville Monday morning.

Those attending the Dublin City Council meeting in June got to meet a much-lauded arson investigator who ran in after the meeting and started sniffing everybody.
