BROWNWOOD GOOD. Water slightly stained; 84-87 degrees; 4.61 feet low. Bass fair to good with catches up to eight pounds on shaky heads, crankbaits and jigs in the stick ups and between docks. Topwater will work early and late in the day. Crappie are excellent with catches up to 1.

Drought and trees explained Texas has already seen extreme heat and very little rain, with the trend predicted to continue. What can stress a tree? “Most trees usually die from a combination of different stresses,” said Courtney Blevins, Texas A&M Forest Service urban forester.

Sales tax increase reported for May

Dublin sales tax collections were slightly up again, at 5.32%, in May, compared to May 2021, according to the June state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. Many of the reports over the last couple of years have been up or about the same.

AUSTIN— As Texans hit the waterways across the state to recognize July Fourth, Texas Game Wardens were out in force to ensure everyone stayed safe on the water.

June 27 A blue Dodge was following the reporting person in the 600 block of North Patrick and the driver waved him down and threatened him. Officer made contact with the blue Dodge and they had nothing to say. Another caller advised a black Durango ran his wife off the road in front of him.
