Sales tax down again, following state trends

Dublin sales tax collections were down in April, at -9.11% lower compared to April 2022, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. For the month of April 2023, Dublin received $43,075.90, compared to $47,395.43 in April 2022.

May 29 A caller reported loud music and as soon as the officer left the music was turned back up. The officer went to speak with the residence’s owner and they turned the music off. A reporting person advised there was a man, possibly drunk, trying to open her door in the 200 block of Bryan.

Rodeo museum serving BBQ

The Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum is serving up its annual BBQ fundraiser on June 23. The meal will include a pulled pork sandwich, a drink and all the fixings for $15 per plate. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to support the non-profit which chronicles Dublin’s rich rodeo history.

Local Author Showcase this Saturday

Bibliophiles will have a chance to meet some scribes this weekend as the Dublin Public Library is presenting a local Author Showcase. The event is slated to run in conjunction with the monthly Dublin Market Days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wright Park in downtown Dublin.
