Jones files for TAC

Mike Jones is one of four Republican candidates running for Erath County Tax Assessor Collector (TAC) alongside a candidate on the Democratic ticket for the March 5 primary election. If elected, he wants to ensure that taxpayers are taken care of.

‘Let’s talk teal’ CTFS brings awareness regarding sexual assault

Teal could be seen as far as the eye could see in Tarleton’s Barry B. Thompson Student Center Ballroom as the fourth annual Cross Timbers Family Services Better Beginnings Brunch took place Saturday, Jan. 27. Teal is the color designated for National Sexual Assault Awareness Month held each April.

Jan. 1 A reporting person in the 200 block of East Clinton advised her neighbor’s dog came over into her yard and killed her dog. Dogs were taken in for further investigation until owner was able to speak with someone. Animal control was made aware of the situation.

Bryan Lanting grew up on his family dairy, helping out with the daily tasks of farm life. Lanting graduated from Dublin High School in 2001, and went on to San Angelo State to play football and rugby. He stayed there a year before transferring to Tarleton to study animal science.

Sales tax up for November

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in November 2023 at 16.6 percent higher compared to November 2022, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. For the month of November 2023, Dublin received $53,885.38, compared to $44,912.
