Filings for school board, councils continue

Filings for local elections for school board and city council are continuing and so far applications for Dublin boards have been slow in coming in.Incumbent City Councilmember Place 3 Darren Turley has filed to retain his seat.
People of all ages dance the night away at the Senior Prom Silver Edition at the newly opened Cross Timbers Legacy Center (Senior Citizens Center) Thursday, Jan. 16. The Legacy is open to everyone in the county with programming geared towards those 55 and older. Those who have not utilized any classes, programs or the center are encouraged to come check it out. The Legacy is located at 830 S. Graham Ave.

The premium show allows youth participants to keep their projects and animals (if they choose) while receiving significant scholarship amounts through the auction. Numerous businesses and local farmers, ranchers and dairymen bid on the projects during the auction. For the first time, ag mechanic projects were also part of the auction.

Dublin City Council: Council names interim city secretary

The Dublin City Council unanimously voted to appoint Kim Seider as the interim City Secretary following a closed session in a busy regular meeting Monday, Jan. 13.The closed session followed the acceptance of Melissa Minor who has been serving as City Secretary since November 2020.

Filing for local elections for school board and city council are now officially open for the May 3 election and both Dublin boards will have opportunities for citizens to serve. Filing is open for local elections through Friday, Feb. 14.
