The Belknap lobby of Texas Health Harris Hospital in Stephenville was filled with smiling faces and excited voices Wednesday, July 29 as the community gathered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the business which has been pivotal in the lives and stories of Erath families.
Former Dublin Ag instructor Weldon Whitehead was inducted into the 2026 Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas Hall of Fame. He was joined on stage with his family. Dublin Superintendent Melissa Summers congratulated Mr. Whitehead and called the honor well-deserved after a lifetime of serving in education. Submitted photo

Although Weldon Whitehead retired as a Dublin FFA teacher in 2003, he was honored at the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas (ATAT) Professional Development Conference July 1924 with his induction into the Ag Teacher Hall of Fame.

Inmate captured in Erath jailbreak

A joint effort took place Monday, Aug. 3 to locate and arrest Trestin Nolte after he escaped from the Erath County Jail.Within minutes of the escape, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies came together to locate Nolte, and he was recaptured about three hours later.
