County grants variances for Comanche Moon

A slew of variances were discussed with approval on most in regards to The Legends of Comanche Moon Phases III and IV.The project, according to the website, is a recreational private gated community spanning 2,300 acres at the north portion of Erath County.

A friendship quilt was pieced together by Dublin women who had each made a square and signed them for their friends, exchanging the blocks. The quilt is one of several that will be on display Friday and Saturday at the Dublin Historical Museum. Courtesy photo

‘Make new friends but keep the old’ are fitting words to remember with Saturday’s Area Reunion, but they also apply to a special display at the museum this weekend. The Dublin Historical Museum is exhibiting the work of local quilters June 13-14 in honoring the past and present.

The Masonic Lodge represented by member Stanley Anderson presented the annual Mirabeau B. Lamar awards recognizing educators at Lingleville and Dublin ISD. During the May 23 Lingleville Graduation, Anderson presented the award to LHS English teacher Jace Winnett .

Sales Tax up 27% for March

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in March, 27.54% compared to March 2024, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.For the month of March, Dublin received $73,573.78 compared to $57,682.89 in March 2024.

The Dublin Garden Club held their regular meeting, May 14, before dismissing for the summer. Janice Reeder was hostess. DJ Klutts was co-hostess.The club had voted earlier to give two $500 scholarships to graduating Dublin Seniors.

Stephenville Masonic Lodge No. 267 recently presented Brad Chilton and Dee White with 50 year service pins. Both men joined the Masonic Lodge organization only a few months away from each other in 1975. The men were recognized with a special barbecue dinner and memories shared by visitors.
