A family of mustached runners starts the annual Cinco de Mayo 5K and fun run benefitting the Erath County Humane Society. The annual event showcased a pet costume contest and vendors along with both a 5K and 1-mile fun run for both pets and humans alike. About $6,000 was raised in the event.

Eleven Dublin High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society Thursday, May 1 in the secondary school cafeteria.

Fundraiser to benefit summer reading

The countdown for summer reading is on as kids and adults can pick up reading logs at the library May 17.A breakfast burrito fundraiser will be held by the library board from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. that morning to help with the program. Large burritos will be $5 each with a choice of ingredients.

The annual Cowboy Capital MS Trail Ride drew a large crowd to Morgan Mill’s Blue Stem Ranch as participants rode along the scenic trails, enjoyed a homemade catfish lunch and bid on some great auction items in the name of multiple sclerosis awareness and research.

Hogan tourney to tee off June 6

Registration is underway for the annual Ben Hogan Legacy Golf Tournament, set for Friday, June 6 at PAR Country Club.The event, hosted by the Ben Hogan Museum of Dublin, offers a double format. A 4-person scramble will tee off at 8 a.m.
