Lions go 3-for-3 in away games

Dublin Lions went three for three in games over the last week starting with a 4-1 win over former coach Brennan Harris’ Lipan Indians on Tuesday, March 5 at Lipan.

Pitcher Zak Loper pitched a complete game, amassing nine strikeouts and 2 walks and only allowing five hits.

Aaron Rodriguez drove in 2 runs on a hits while Charlie Rasberry forced three walks at the plate.

Loper scored a Double and a run at the plate.

The Lions followed this win with play in the DeLeon tournament on Saturday, March 16.

Dublin made a commanding entrance with a 24-0 wins over the Huckabay Indians.

Kaiden Gaitan pitched 4 innings, only allowing one hit and no runs.

Ivan Phelps went 4-4 at the plate with two runs batted in, scoring five runs and stealing five bases.

This victory was followed by a battle with the Goldthwaite Eages. The Lions scored their first season win against Goldthwaite in the Brown County tournament and the opponents were looking for redemption as the game went over the alotted time as the score stood at 2-2 after five innings.

Dublin Scored three more runs as Phelps, Cameron Patton and Julian Caldera made their way across the plate and the games got called in Dublin’s favor 5-2.

Aaron Rodriguez pitched 4.2 innings in the game, allowing 4 walks, 1 hit, 2 runs and getting 5 strikeouts.

Phelps went 2-3 at the plate, scoring 2 runs and stealing 3 bases.

Caldera went 2-2 plate with a key RBI in the final inning.
