The Lady Lions showed the pride’s poise under pressure in a 54-41 loss to Millsap Tuesday, Dec. 16 and 46-34 loss to Peaster at home Friday, Dec. 19.
Head Dublin girls basketball Coach Waylon Salinas said his team started off well in both games but had troubles against Millsap in the 2nd and 3rd quarter after injuries. They recovered with a strong 4th.
Olivia Salyer led scoring with 11 points followed by Bayli Jackson with 6 and Regan Vanbebber and Savannah Chacon with 5 each. Derby Kukla, Adriana Stewart and Ismari Molina each added 4 and Brittney Everett scored 2.
At home, the Lady Lions kept pace with Peaster well in the first half but according to Salinas, they got into foul trouble. Stewart led scoring with 14 while Salyer had 11. Chacon scored 3 points. Kukla and Molina each added 2 points and Jackson and Vanbeeber each added 1.
“We are looking forward to the next few weeks to work on some things and make a few adjustments on both sides of the ball,” said Salinas. “We have a tough schedule coming back. We just have to find our rhythm and stick to it. We are a good team; we just have to play to our full potential. The girls are growing every week and are hungry to win.”
