Lady Lions close season

The Dublin volleyball Lady Lions ended their season Oct. 25 in a home game against the Breckenridge Lady Bucks.

The game started in fierce fashion as the visitors only barely edged out the Lady Lions 29-27. However, Breckenridge close out the competition with 25s over Dublin’s 19 and 10 point second and third sets.

“These girls came out and killed the first set and played their hearts out,” said head volleyball coach Arin Knight. “We may have lost, but the girls did truly play amazing and knew to leave everything out on that court as it was their last game of the season.”

“Thank you to everyone who supported our Lady Lions throughout the whole season,” she added. “We can’t wait until next year!”

The Dublin girls benefitted from the following stats during the game: Jackie Gibson- 2 blocks and 6 kills Karlie White- 2 blocks, 5 digs and 4 kills Madison Turley- 1 block,10 digs and 3 kills Madilyn Loper 2 blocks, 13 digs, 8 kills and 4 aces.

Libby Turner- 9 digs Paige Wilson- 15 digs and 1 ace Summer Anderson- 10 digs and 1 ace Chloey Rollins- 1 kill The final game followed an Oct. 21 match at Comanche that went to five sets.

“These girls played the hardest they have played all year,” Knight said of the battle against the Maidens. “This was a very intense game… The girls played hard and did not give up!”

The Lady Lions racked up the following stats in the fight: Gibson- 10 blocks and 11 kills White- 1 block, 6 kills and 12 digs Loper- 2 blocks, 12 kills and 30 digs Turley- 1 block, 7 kills and 17 digs Rollins- 1 kill and 2 digs Turner- 5 digs Wilson- 27 digs Anderson- 2 kills and 21 digs
