Cards wings over Moran

The Lingleville Varsity and Jr. High Cardinal football boys traveled to Moran Thursday, Oct. 1 with both claiming wins in the double header.

Head Lingleville coach Jim Bays reported that although varsity “came out a little sluggish,” they were able to overcome three fumbles in the first half and keep control starting in the first quarter, which ended 12- 7 in the Cards’ favor. The battle went four quarters deep allowing some impressive state by the boys in maroon.

The Cardinals won 53-7. Jacob Koke had 10 carries for 145 Yards and 4 touchdowns. He also received for 80 yards including another touchdown and scored a fumble recovery. Simon Dominguez amassed 132 yards and two touchdowns. Klayson Guajardo scored two TDs, one in receiving and one in rushing, as well as a fumble recovery.

Giovanni Martinez and Gerrit Koke each secured an interception.

The Jr. High conquered Moran 46-0 in their matchup.

The Lady Cardinals also split wins last week with a three-set loss to Strawn Oct. 3 and a three-set win Sept. 29 over Stephenville Faith.
