Dublin, Lingleville start workouts Monday

The Sun is officially setting on Summer 2024 as Dublin and Lingleville ISD athletes will be heading to the first day of practice Monday, Aug. 5.

ALL DISD students must turn in a Medical History Form prior to workouts. Incoming 7th, 9th & 11th graders must get a physical this year. Students are encouraged to get this taken care of ASAP if it hasn’t been done yet. Students are required to bring a physical examination form and their medical history form (included in this letter) to the appointment. All other UIL required forms will be part of the online registration process. Students must complete online registration before they can participate in practice sessions.

Dublin Cross Country 

Dublin Cross Country workouts start up Aug. 5 at 6:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. Athletes should meet up at the single tree south of the football stadium for warm up and stretch followed by full body workout and abs session in the weight room. Any questions should be directed to Coach Wes Grisham.

Dublin Football

Football practice will begin August 5, 2024 at 6 a.m. Players should report from 5:15 - 5:30 a.m. to be fitted for helmets & workout clothes. Practice will begin at 6 a.m.

The gridiron Lions will practice in the mornings on August 5-7 as teacher in-service will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on those days. The first day of school is Thursday, August 8.

Dublin Volleyball

Dublin Lady Lions will start 2-a-days Aug. 5th-7th to prep and start making teams in anticipation of their first scrimmage set for Aug. 10 at home where they will test their skills against Hico and Mullin.

Lingleville Football 

The Cardinals will hit the field starting at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 for their first day of practice. Coach Jim Bays reported he is boasting bigger numbers this year including 6 seniors so the practice days will give him time to set up his players prior to their first scrimmage on Aug. 16.

Lingleville Volleyball 

Lingleville Volleyball girls will hit the court for practice at 4 p.m. on Aug. 5. Coach Brandon Haught said his team is loaded with seniors so he will use the practice sessions to see each player’s experience prior to the first scrimmage set at Ranger on Aug. 10 at 10 a.m.
