A memorial service for Jack Baxter Crouch will be on Wednesday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mineral Wells, Texas. At the family’s request, please honor Jack by wearing purple to the service as he was a very proud TCU Horned Frog.

Bessie Ruth (Downes) James, 93, passed away on May 7, 2022 in Stephenville, TX. Bessie was born on January 9, 1929 in Oklaunion, TX to her parents Benjamin Downes and Eva Mae (Fleming) Downes along with her brothers and sisters H.E. Downes, O.M. (Jack) Downes, Billy Wayne Downes, Raymond Neil Downes, Bennie Downes, Minnie Bell Bishop, Melba James, and Eva Mae Keck. She married Jack R. V. James in 1946. Bessie worked at a sewing factory, school lunchroom, peanut mill, and washeteria. She loved to fish, cook, and Christmas. Bessie was always looking forward to all the family coming together.

Joyce Laverne (Byers) Taylor, 91, passed away on May 3, 2022 in Dublin, TX. Joyce was born on August 18, 1930 in Roswell, NM to her parents John Byers and Genva Adelaide (Shell) Byers. She was a hairdresser and seamstress and did upholstery work.

Shirley Maurine Gregory, 74, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2022 in Witchita Falls, TX. Shirley was born on June 30, 1947 in Knox City, Knox, TX to her parents Heulon Rushing and Viola (Petit) Rushing. She married Gary Gregory. Shirley was an LVN at Dublin Hospital and Home Care. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Christie Louise Battenfield was born on February 15, 1967, to the late Jerrel Dwayne Battenfield and Anita Landry in Oceanside, California. After attaining her GED, Christie, worked a variety of jobs including food and beverage/ service, hospitality, veterinarian technician and retail at our very own McCoys. Christie was an avid animal lover, talented artist and an infectious social butterfly.

Esther De La Rosa Rodriguez, 70, went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2022 in Dublin, TX. Esther was born on October 14, 1951 in Mexico to her parents Cruz De La Rosa and Carmen (Rodriguez). She married Tereso Rodriguez on March 18, 1967. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She liked to stay home and loved to cook. Esther took care of some of her grandchildren and loved her parents and her children. She had a big heart.

Cecil “Mack” Tackett, 79, passed away on April 15, 2022 in Stephenville, TX. Mack was born on November 30, 1942 in Erath County, TX to his parents Cecil C. Tackett and Mary (Gray) Tackett. He was a tractor mechanic. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him.

David Martinez, 55, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX. David was born on April 20, 1966 in San Saba, TX to his parents Cipriano Martinez and Paula (Dela Cruz). He married Melinda Watts Childers and were together for 29 years. David was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a truck driver for High Pro Feed out of Comanche. David worked at Wolf Nursery and Greens Creek Nursery for many years.

HERNANDEZ

Eduardo “Eddie” Hernandez, Jr., 15, passed away on April 7, 2022 in Stephenville, TX. Eddie was born on April 11, 2006 in Stephenville, TX to his parents Eduardo Hernandez and Graciela (Medina). He was a student at Dublin ISD where he participated in extracurricular activities including football #75, powerlifting, and track and field. Eddie also enjoyed bull riding, hunting, fishing, and playing video games. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Eddie was full of life and had the biggest heart.
