Mary “Louise” Crawford passed away at 4:48 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2024, at the age of 96, just short of her 97th birthday. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, on a dairy farm in Rusk Texas, to Liliian (Nanny) Fountain. Nanny later married Alfred Crawford who became the families beloved Pop.

Louise married Sam Crawford, June 19, 1944. They were blessed with two children. They divorced some 30 years later. She is being buried at Victor Cemetery in Erath County Texas.

Louise is preceded in death by parents Lillian “Nanny” Crawford, Alfred “Pop” Crawford, Brother Charles Wallace and Granddaughter Melinda Foster.

Louise is survived by her children; Kay (Jack) Foster-Cotner, Roy (Hilda) Crawford, Grand Children; Joe Foster, Shelby Foster, Grady (Jessica) Crawford, Great Grand Children; Will (Laura) Foster, Leci (Drew) Wood, Riley (Mark) Foster-McCarver, Gary Morton, Kris Slayter, Cayden Crawford, 5 Beautiful Great Great Granddaughters, one Handsome Great Great Grandson, and last but not least one amazing Great Great Great Grandson. six generations of Texas born family. Louise, Kay, Joe, Leci, Brianna and Brennan.

Louise loved her family and dear friends. She was a fiercely independent woman who took care of herself and her animals for the better part of 50 years. Having been raised on a dairy farm, nothing made her happier than her garden, dogs, chickens, ducks, goats, birds and a nice, tall, cold glass of weak tea.
