Barbara Ruth Miller, born Nov. 29, 1935, peacefully departed this world on July 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion. Her life was defined by enduring relationships, quiet strength, and a steadfast commitment to those she loved and the communities she served.
As family and friends reflect on Barbara’s remarkable life, they will remember her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the countless lives she touched through her dedicated years in childcare and her selfless service to every community she called home. They also hold memories of playing the guitar and singing on the Dublin Hour Radio with her sister for two years when she was thirteen. Her family will also treasure the beauty she shared through her many artistic gifts, from the warmth of her handcrafted quilts to her photography paintings, each reflecting the creativity, care, and love that defined her life.
Barbara was the beloved mother of four children; Herb Miller and wife, Patty, Babs Bolles and husband, Greg, Kathy Tolan and husband, Steve, Dorothy Lantrip and husband, Gene, Her legacy shines through her nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-greatgrandchildren. Their laughter and milestones were joys that illuminated Barbara’s days, affirming the deep love she held for her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her cherished husband, B.A. Miller, who was her steadfast partner through life’s many seasons. She was also predeceased by her mother and father, Addie and Vernon Calder, as well as sister, Linda Franklin.
Barbara’s family gathered to remember and honor her life with a graveside service Thursday, July 23., 2026. Service under the direction of Harrell Funeral Home.
