Dora Dupriest was born February 2nd, 1929, in Dublin Texas to Clevie Thiebaud and Ruby Posy (Simpson) Keith. She passed away Saturday, August 5th at 94 years of age. Dora is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Shirley Dupriest, and their son Dan Dupriest; daughter-in-law, Gale Dupriest; granddaughter, Dana Rodriquez; and four great grandchildren, Aiden, Maggie, Micah and Millie Rodriquez.

Dora is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Al Dupriest, on December 15, 2015.

Dora grew up in a farming family in Highland, Texas. She married Al Dupriest from De Leon in 1947 and they settled in Highland.

Their first son, Larry Dupriest, was born in 1948 and Fred Dupriest in 1954. Al eventually joined the Mobil Chemical Company in Beaumont, Texas and they lived in the small nearby community of Bevel Oaks until their retirement in 1985.

After raising two sons, Dora returned to school at 38 years of age to obtain an LVN Nursing degree from Lamar University.

She graduated at the top of her class and worked for St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for 15 years providing maternity care. She and Al retired to Sam Rayburn Lake in 1985 where they worked to serve their church, minister to local youth, and provide care for families in need.

They returned to Stephenville in 2004 and became members of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Dora was a person of great, quiet faith and love for the Lord.

She shared her faith in how she lived. Whether in comforting young mothers as a maternity nurse, ministering to indigent children, or caring for the sick and elderly in her community, her faith was known from her kindness, compassion and understanding. She and Al had a great love and devotion to each other. We will miss them both dearly.

Funeral services for Dora will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 12th at Stephenville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Round Grove Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation with the Dupriest family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
