Aileen Elizabeth Moore, 83, of Gustine went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2021 in Stephenville. She was born on June 18, 1938 in Monahans, Texas to her parents Carl Crave Broyles and Wilma Dudley (Graham) Broyles. She graduated from Abilene Christian High School and graduated from Abilene Christian University. She taught in Talpa, New Home, Sidney, and Gustine ISD’s. While teaching homemaking in Gustine, where she met John Moore and married him on July 7, 1962. They raised their daughter Carla together. She later was employed at the gas utility company in Brownwood and MHMR in Comanche County. She was very involved in the Church of Christ in Gustine where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Gustine Red Hat Society. Aileen was a fun and loving person, mixed with a stubborn streak. She was a great seamstress and cook who loved to travel, play the piano, overall, she was a very creative person. She loved dogs almost more than people and had a major dislike for snakes.

Aileen was proceeded in death by her husband John on January 29, 2018 and her daughter Carla on August 7, 2012.

She is survived by her grandson Clinton Payne and his wife Amanda Sturgeon of San Antonio, Texas, her granddaughter Kessi Payne of Tulsa, OK, her grandson Jerry Payne of Comanche, Texas, her great-grandchildren Conor and Henry, her son-in-law Jeff Wendeborn of Comanche, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Service will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 at The Harrell Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. before the funeral.

Interment will be at the Carlton Cemetery.
