The Lady Lions sparred with Breckenridge and Millsap in games last week.
“We came out kind of slow but fighting,” said head Lady Lions basketball coach Kim Perez of their home battle with Breckenridge Friday, Jan. 5. “Third quarter was our best quarter— we had the most energy then, kept clawing our way back.”
That grip slipped in the fourth as Olivia Salyer and Emma Vargas fouled out and they got 5 to the visitors’ 27. The game ended 68-32 in Breckenridge’s favor.
“Obviously not the outcome we wanted, but we are continuing to grow as a team,” said Perez.
Adriana Stewart, Derby Kukla and Vargas led Dublin scoring with 8 each. Adriana Rosalez scored 4. Ingrid Hernandez had 3 and Olivia Salyer put up 2. This game followed a 64-22 away loss to Millsap Tuesday, Jan. 2.
