Body

BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.22 feet above pool. Black bass to 7 pounds are good in brush in 3-20 feet of water, shoreline grass with white or green pumpkin swim jigs, crankbaits and top waters. Bass are in a summer pattern. Crappie are good with fish up to 12 inches being caught in 18-25 feet of water on minnows and jigs. Target deeper, large docks with brush on the main lake and at the 279 Bridge. White bass are fair to 2 pounds on crankbaits out of the lights at night with some schooling early and late. Catfish are fair on cut shad, nightcrawlers and chicken livers on the main lake flats.

GRANBURY

GOOD. Water stained; 83 degrees; 0.05 feet below pool. Granbury is at full pool and settling out after being stained. Water temperatures are around the middle 80s and the summer patterns are settling in. Sand bass continue to be good on trolled baits on the lower ends on feeding flats. Striped bass have been slow on live shad and trolled umbrella rigs worked mainly on the lower ends as well. Largemouth are good to 7 pounds on spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits and soft plastics worked in clearer water in sloughs and creeks on many areas of the lake. The catfish bite has been excellent on prepared baits and cut shad on many areas of the lake and especially in the stained water. Crappie are slow, but the best reports are coming from fishing structure mid-lake with small minnows and jigs.

POSSUM KINGDOM FAIR. Water slightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.01 feet above pool. Stripers are fair to good in 20-40 feet of water. The best bite has been live bait but it can be difficult to find. There has been good steady action with the occasional slowdown. Best bet is to just sit and wait for them to move through and catch a few then wait for the next school. Sand bass are fair in 5-20 feet of water on main lake points. Chrome and white seem to be out producing all other colors. Catfish are good on cut shad in 2-10 feet of water fished on the bottom. Baited holes are your best bet to catch numbers but will not produce big fish. Bait with cattle cubes and wait 2-3 hours before fishing. Use punch bait for best results on baited holes. Catfish should be going into spawn soon so it should start to slow down until they are done spawning. Water clarity is less than 1feet on the north end, but the south end is better at 4-6 feet of visibility but still slightly stained.
