Time Again for the ERATH COUNTY STOCK SHOW

The Erath County Junior Livestock Show is currently underway at the Erath County stock show grounds.

One big change this year is the move of Saturday night’s Sale of Champions from the show grounds to City Limits in Stephenville.

The show began Monday with the breeding does show followed by the goat and lamb shows on Tuesday. (Results from all of the shows will be presented in next week’s Citizen.)

Schedule of Events

Wednesday, Jan. 5

6 a.m. Swine may arrive

8 a.m. Market & Breeding Rabbit Checkin

9 a.m. Broiler Check-In

10 a.m. - Broiler Show followed by Breeding Rabbit, Market Rabbit, Showmanship followed by Market Swine Classification and Weighin

3 p.m.-5 p.m. Ag Mechanics Check-in and Set-up

Thursday, Jan. 6

6 a.m. Beef cattle may arrive

8 a.m. Ag Mechanics Show

9 a.m. Swine Showmanship followed by Market Swine

Friday, Jan. 7

8 a.m. Steer Weigh-in & Classification followed by Beef Heifer Check-in & Commercial Heifer Check-in followed by Market Steer Show – followed by Beef Heifer Show

2 p.m. All tack must be removed from Dairy stall area

3 p.m.-6 p.m. Dairy arrival and check-in (No check-in Saturday)

Saturday, Jan. 8

8 a.m. Dairy Show

11 a.m. Horse Show at Lone Star Arena

5:30 p.m. Showmanship Recognition & Awards Presentation

6 p.m. Sale of Champions Auction – City Hall at City Limits

Buying Pool open

The Dublin Junior Livestock Buying Pool is open to make sure the exhibitors are properly rewarded, the buying pool helps Dublin youth fetch a good price for their animals during the auction that follows the judging.

The greater the amount of donations, the more students the buying pool can benefit.

Anyone wishing to donate to the cause can send a donation to:

Names of donators will be printed in the newspaper, but donation amounts will kept confidential.
