As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s not only a season for food but also a season to give thanks and spend time together.
Several organizations are making sure people are taken care of, regardless if they have family or not.
In Dublin, Ryan and Marcia Raborn are providing free meals for elderly shut-ins or anyone that doesn’t have a place to go.
The couple is providing the meal themselves and it has nothing to do with Golden Chick, other than that is the location for meal pickup.
Free meals will be served starting at noon, Thursday, Nov. 28 until supplies are gone.
Meals will need to be picked up unless delivery is arranged in advance, and only local delivery is allowed.
Those needing a free meal need to RSVP as soon as possible to Ryan at 254340-8409 or Marcia at 254340-8427 so they can have a record on how many meals to prepare.
Meals will include turkey, ham, homemade dressing, yams, green bean casserole, roll and a dessert.
Clairette Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be taking place at 1 p.m. this Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Community Center.
There will be free turkey, dressings and beverages provided. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish to share.
The event is hosted by the Clairette TEEA Club.
