Editor’s note: The Dublin Citizen is pleased to present teacher profiles on our new DISD teachers for the 2024-25 school year. Profiles have been published in last week and this week's editions.

Family Fun Day to be hosted Saturday

 The Stephenville/Dublin KOA will be hosting a family fun day Saturday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Attractions will included bounce houses, water slide, pedal cars, Connect 4, Giant Jenga and more, along with a cornhole contest. Admission is $5 for the public and free to guests of the park.

County, city rolling out tire collection

Erath County and the City of Dublin are hosting a free tire disposal event Saturday. Sept. 6 at the public works yard (602 N. Norton).Tires will be collected from 8 a.m. to noon or until the trailer is full.

The following first responder calls were made Aug. 18–Aug. 17. Local first responders handled 77 calls during this timeframe and PD completed 24 traffic stops.Dublin PD Aug. 18A welfare concern was issued for an elderly individual.A civil matter about eviction was called in.Aug.

Friends and family made their way to Lucky Vines Saturday, Aug. 23 for the annual Grape Stomp event, enjoying live music, wine, t-shirts, charcuterie boards and more, and of course the chance to help stomp some grapes. For photos in print, see the Aug. 28 edition.

Commissions honor Buzzi, approve MOWEC grant

A packed commissioners court agenda Monday, Aug. 25 led to a lengthy meeting and slew of approvals.The meeting kicked off with a presentation in honor of Ruth Buzzi, an American actress and comedian from Erath County.She appeared on stage, on screen in films, and on television.

Tarleton University announces record enrollment of 21k students

Continuing a stretch of historic momentum, Tarleton State University has announced that preliminary fall 2025 numbers indicate record enrollment for the sixth consecutive year, with approximately 21,000 students attending.
